Winter Woes
As much as I *love* the cold weather and the snow, it does present a few challenges. For instance, the heated garage that I spend quite a bit of time in (my smoking lounge) is much LESS heated these last few days…when the temp outside is -12, there’s only so much that the heater can do, after all. And Elder Daughter’s vehicle is being balky…I told her to start it up every few hours during the weekend, but did she listen…? So I have to head over to Home Depot to buy a long extension cord to plug into her block heater, which I am told will give it enough “juice” to start. And my car…well, it runs fine, but the heater is spotty at best. Blows hot air for about two or three minutes, then begins blowing progressively colder air. Turn it off. Wait for about four or five minutes, then turn it on again, and it blows hot air for another few minutes, and then turns cold again. Grrrrrr… So off to the service station tomorrow — the consensus among my car-savvy friends is that the thermostat needs to be replaced. Sigh. So, there are challenges involved with sub-zero weather, but I still wouldn’t trade the cold & the snow! Oh — and some big, fluffy flakes have been falling during the last couple of hours…got my fingers crossed!

David, you need a vacation here in Savannah. We’ve got highs in th mid 70’s here al week after the cold snap we had. Come on down!
You should stop through Athens on your way to Sam’s place. We got lovely sunshine and temps in the low 70’s today.
I would love a couple of days with some snow, though. It’s so pretty.
That makes the 25 degree current temperature seem downright balmy. We have snow in the forecast again, but I’m not holding my damn breath. It’s pretty sad when SOCAL gets more snow than Spokane!!
xoxo
It’s been snowing here in Omaha since noon. By the time it all ends tomorrow night, we should have about 15″ on the ground.
