Why WP?

T.L. Hines (a fellow Montana blogger) asked below why I switched from MT to WP. Here’s why. In a nutshell, here are the reasons: no rebuilds! better spam-blocking & spam-killing! no rebuilds! easier style-switching! no rebuilds! friendly community! no rebuilds! ‘Nuff said.

  1. Which is easier to use, MT or WP?
Does WP have a steep or shallow learning curve?
It seems from your earlier comments there are quite a few widgets & gizmos for WP is there a similar surprise package for MT?

  2. Did you mention that there’s no constant rebuilds?

  3. WP is incredibly easy — the learning curve, as best I can gauge, is much simpler than MT. And yes, there are plenty of plugins, hacks, and tools for WP — many of which are one-button simple.

    Very cool.

  4. PHP is LOADS easier when you’re talking about plug-ins; and did you mention the no rebuilds thing?

    Also — it’s FREE.

  5. This kind of talk makes me uneasy. That’s why I don’t like to think about how a phone works.

  6. I will throw in my new software serendipity has all the wp advantages but is even easier to install and use. The only downside is that is still in alpha testing.
