(heavy breathing)

note: sorry no “goth girl” post yet…still in development…meanwhile: You know, “heavy breathing” of the sort heard on the Kraftwerk classic “Tour de France.” Trust me when I tell you that this is a great song to listen to when you’re on the elliptical torture device machine at the gym. Which reminds me: raise your hand if you loved, loved, loved the scene in “Breaking” when Turbo did his “broom dance” to that song. It was indeed magical, as was the entire movie. If you haven’t seen it — or worse, seen it and dismissed it — then it’s time to treat yourself by purchasing the DVD. You can begin poppin’ and lockin’ and whatnot in the comfort of your own living room!

  2. I’m the operator of my pocket calculator. Kraftwerk is awesome.

  3. When I started in radio in 1985, I did a remix of Tour De France that was brilliant. Thne tune was a hit with me. But, does anyone remember The Art Of Noise and “Close To The Edit?”

  4. I want a ‘goth girl’ post, and I want it soon. I got mine up!

  5. Kim, I tried to comment on your great poem for Goth Day; but, was unable to complete the comment. I didn’t receive the form at the bottom of the page.

Yes Dave, I too am tapping my foot waiting for your Goth Girl appearance.

Oh, and I have not seen Breaking.

  6. Kraftwerk’s The Model made many a rainy summer night seem like magic in action.

Like drew said: thanks for the reminder!

  7. And I also could not comment at Kim’s page. WTF? I’m on an old browser for security reasons… maybe that’s why…

  8. “Poppin’ and lockin’ and whatnot” sounds like what my knees do when I get out of bed in the morning.

  9. Sam - close to the edit was great. Remember the video?

David - Does this mean we can start calling you Cupcake? I’m SO going to make a Breakin’ post over at Gen X Nostalgia

  10. I loved that little scene, Renee!
