How To: Popup
Can anybody help me figure out how to make popup images? It used to be one-click simple with Movable Type, but there’s no one-click trick in WordPress. I’ve poked around the WP forums, done some Googling, but can’t seem to find a way. UPDATE: Testing! One more: Puppy Dog! And just one more: Weather Update. UPDATE: The way I did it was to follow the advice of Jess in his original comment: I used MT to upload a picture, selected the popup option, and then just copied the HTML that it generated. I pasted that into this WP entry, only I substituted the name of a picture that I had uploaded several days ago in WP. Changed the dimensions to fit the new picture, and voila! Hey, it may be ugly, but it worked. If you still have MT on your server, give it a shot.

The pop-up image functionality is one of the few things I really miss about using Movable Type. You always have the option of installing Movable Type solely for the purpose of uploading images and getting the handy pop-up code. I still keep a copy sitting around on my server for that very purpose. But, it’s a bit of a pain to bother with.
Let me know if you come up with a solution that only requires, you know, a single content-management system.
HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!! (Not shouting, just excited, because I miss that about MT, too.)

I second Margi’s-not-yelling-but-way-way-excited exclamation!!
Yep…it’s time to ‘fess up.
Dang! Since I never used MT, I am not able to avail myself of this option.
I do not have MT installed on my current server so this won’t work for me. Soooo I did some checking with my favorite blog tool/CSS manipulation site (Mandarin Design) and found this. Clickable thumbnail.
Lach, I’m working on it - and I’ll probably do a post with directions (if I can make ‘em clear) soon.
As always, you rock Margi! Even when sick.
