Spammers

I’ve enabled the WordPress feature that requires approval by me before a first-time commenter can leave a comment…just got sick-n-tired of the casino-spammers. So if you’ve left comments here before, you should have no problem…but if you’re commenting for the first time, give me a few tics to approve your comment.

Oh no - your recently heard comments are ALL about - uhh - I’m not going to use the word.Like we don’t already have enough “gaming” in Montana.
Welcome to the world of having your blog suddenly becoming a spam magnet *sigh*
I haven’t made use of this WP feature myself, but recently I’ve installed the Spam Karma 2 plugin. Even though the spam filter integrated to WP did block everything, I grew tired of getting so many e-mails every day reporting that so-and-so spam comment had been blocked. Now I get a one-time digest, period. Less bothering.
This is getting so tiresome, really. If I activate CAPTCHA features from another of my plugins, it’s just bothering for the genuine commenters (I hate this function myself: half the time, it’s plainly unreadable, and I need to retype two or three times). If I force registration before commenting, it tends to turn down people. Approval might work, but I’ll still get the spam anyway, if only for me to not approve it. Blah.
Die, spammers.
David, I’m so sad. I have been grouped with the spammers. Your Spam Karma does not like me. sniff sniff. But I’ll perservere, maybe in time the cosmic Spam Karma Catcher will recognise me. Or I will just add casino to my name and it will let me right in!
HOT BBQ. I saw that when I reinstalled WP.
Which means, RD is back up and quacking.
spiffy!
Just in time for my first comment!
And where’s the on switch for that feature? My Spam Karma works great…it hates EVERYONE.
