Noriyuki “Pat” Morita, known world-wide simply as “Mr Miyagi,” has passed away. What a great character he created in the four Karate Kid movies. Ever wonder how many people in the 80s signed up for karate lessons as a direct result of Mr Miyagi? And his role as Arnold on “Happy Days” was great - his “bwa-ha-ha!” laugh was hilarious, and let’s face it: once Arnold left and Al took over the drive-in, it just wasn’t the same. Yes, he did many other movies and TV shows, but nothing resonated as much as Mr Miyagi. How many of you have recited “wax on, wax off” at some point in the last twenty years, or jokingly assumed the “crane kick” position when faced with mock danger, or told someone to “…always look-a eye”?
