So I was at a local store last week, and I happened to walk by the aisle that contained silverware sets. “Hm…we are getting a bit low on forks…and where on earth do all of those spoons disappear too, anyway…? Maybe it’s about time to buy some new stuff…gosh, when is the last time we actually bought silverware?” I thought, thought harder, and just couldn’t remember how long it had been since we bought new forks, spoons, and knives. So what the heck…I splurged on a $33 set, serving for eight. Nifty, eh? So when I got home that evening, I placed the box triumphantly on the counter, ready for the Missus to be pleasantly surprised.
About 15 minutes later, she walked in, carrying - you guessed it - a brand-new set of silverware. She had stopped at a store on the way home from work to buy new pants, but finding none suitable, she chanced upon the silverware aisle, and her thought process echoed mine. Amazing. No communication, no discussion, just a happy little coincidence. Cool, eh?
