“Open The Card”
At the risk of sounding like a Scrooge, I’ve got to gripe about the latest commercial for Hallmark cards. It is pathetic. The scene involves some apparent Christmas carolers who knock on the door of a happy couple. The happy couple opens the door and waits for the carolers to begin singing, but instead one of the carolers hands the couple a Christmas card. The man and woman smile uncertainly, still expecting the visitors to break into “Deck The Halls.” Finally one of the carolers whispers loudly to the couple: “Open the card!” The couple opens the card, and it begins to play a Christmas song. Smiles all around. But the carolers don’t sing - they just stand there like dopes and let the card play the tinny song!
I say: BAH HUMBUG! What the heck is the point of donning your winter gear, assembling a group of merry carolers, and then roaming the neighborhood, knocking on doors - and then just handing a freakin’ card to your neighbors? I just don’t get it. Yes, the musical cards are cool, but using them as replacements for actual caroling…huh?

Heh..I was thinking the same thing. How lazy.
Have you seen the pizza commercial where the guy is excited that he “thinks” he got away with paying less because the driver made a mistake?
So basically it’s ok to knowingly not pay the right amount??
Agreed. That commercial is almost as bad as Santa getting pulled over and the cop asking him what is in the bag.
I just hope you like what I sent you via email. I promise, there are no carolers involved.
