Ducks or Geese?

Cute oven-mitt that I spotted at work, but some confusion: one minute they look like ducks, but then they look like geese. I asked some friends, and opinions were divided. One thing we all agreed on: they are birds. Beyond that, we’re stumped. So which is it: ducks or geese? And how can you be sure?

I vote geese, judging from the length of their necks.
I was just going to say the opposite — I think they’re ducks, because their necks are too short to be geese.
But they’re kinda long for ducks, so, I guess I don’t know.
Because I’m a City Girl and therefore lacking in Fowl Education, the necks thing would be my guess. Yes.
I’m saying Geese, due to the longer necks, all-whiteness of them, and the blue pattern behind them. Why? My great aunt Dodo (Dolores was her name, but nobody called her that, ever) had this blue-with-geese pattern all over her house - blue with tiny white pinpoints. It was called whimsical geese. She loved it. It creeped me out.
With the too-short necks, I’m guessing this is maybe a knockoff of a semi-popular original. “We’re not violating copyright,” they’ll say when confronted. “Clearly their necks are too short to be geese; these are whimsical ducks.” But until then, they know the truth.
