Lights Out
(Set your snark-meter to High)
Oh, this is absolutely brilliant: let’s all turn off the lights for an hour to show how concerned we are about global warming! Geez. This ranks right up there with Live Aid, which completely eliminated famine and disease from Africa, or Hands Across America, which succeeded in…um…something Very Important, I guess.
Here’s the outline: everybody is supposed to turn off all of their lights for one hour at 8:00 pm on March 29, 2008. Several large U.S. cities are “participating” in this stunt, including Chicago, Phoenix, and San Francisco (gee, didn’t see that coming).
And why are we supposed to do this? Duh! So that we can “…take a stand against the greatest threat our planet has ever faced…”
Gee, hyperbole much?
Me, I’m going to turn on every single damn appliance, light, and fixture that I can during that hour.

You do that Dave!
Me? I’m just gonna eat a Spotted Owl…
