Nice Kitty

1:53 pm

The younger of my two cats, Baby, likes to relax in a somewhat unusual manner: she often stretches out her front legs aaaalllllll the way and then falls asleep in that position. Yesterday we found her like this:

Even if you hate cats, you’ve gotta admit that this is pretty darn cute.

  1. Night night kitty. Just like homely kids, only their parents think they’re cute.

  3. This is completely off topic, and only has something to do with the original post insofar as it references kitties, but I saw a woman “walking” her cat yesterday and I nearly died laughing. The only thing that saved me was the this thought: “must…live…to…tell…Dave…!!” Right through downtown this little gal was dragging her cat, its feet splayed out and braced, claws dragging down the pavement, belly to the ground, little kitty eyeballs as big as dinner plates… Heh heh heh… Classic!

  4. My cats do this as well. :) And one I like to call, “Dinosaur Kitty”, where they lay with all arms underneath, and the throat of the neck stretched all the way out on the floor, so that it looks like a Stegosaurus.

  5. My cat used to sleep completely stretched out in front of the heater, arms and legs fully extended. That was “doing superman”.

Another cat used to tuck all appendages completely underneath, and appear to be a rounded blob o’ fur-n-meat. This was “doing meatloaf by the door”.

I won’t go into where “frozen lie-downs” came from.
