Driving to work this morning it was -22 degrees…but we’ve warmed up since then to about -17 degrees. And the weather folks have just issued a Winter Storm Warning, which coincides with the Wind Chill Warning.
…strong north to northwest winds gusting to near 35 mph will create areas of blowing snow with near whiteout conditions at times. Blowing and drifting snow and areas of freezing fog causing low visibilities have already prompted Road closures in many locations. In addition… with temperatures continuing to fall through the day… wind chill values will range from 30 to 50 degrees below zero.
Earlier this week, we got about eight inches of snow and the temps dropped to -23. It warmed up - we cracked 32 degrees today - but we’ve got another winter blast coming!

Watching the Weather Channel last night for updates on The Blizzard…the orange crawl on the bottom on the screen with the latest updates…and the following words appeared: “…periods of blowing snow snow.” Hee hee! “Blowing snow snow!” We’ve got a new catch-phrase!
